Ali Amad
I am Professor of Psychiatry at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lille and at Lille University Hospital.
My work brings together clinical care for severe and treatment-resistant psychiatric disorders, research in clinical neuroscience, and university teaching.
My work focuses in particular on developing an objective clinical approach, conceived as the necessary foundation for the neuroscientific interpretation of psychiatric illness. I am also interested in the study of catatonia, and in the mechanisms of action of physical treatments (electroconvulsive therapy, neuromodulation).
Since February 2026 I have directed the F2RSM Psy, the regional federation for research in psychiatry and mental health of the Hauts-de-France region.
